There are different types of fear;
This type of fear is appropriate and keeps us alert to real dangers – the edge of a crumbling cliff, driving too fast.
This type of fear can hold us back from personal growth, preventing us to fulfil potential opportunities.
Unhealthy fear is seeded through a warning we are given as a child from our parents, “Be careful!” You don’t often hear a parent saying, “Take lots of risks!”
“Be careful” carries two different meanings;
1. The world is a dangerous place and you won’t be able to handle it (Child)
2. If something happens to you I won’t be able to handle it (Parent)
