1. This is not a reward.
If hunger isn’t the problem, then food isn’t the solution.
2. It’s never too late to stop yourself and turn around.
Even if you slip up and eat something you shouldn’t, that doesn’t mean you should give up. Take it one day at a time. If it went wrong today, put it right tomorrow.
3. No one is ‘naturally fat’.
If you tell yourself ‘I’ll always be fat. That’s just who I am,’ then you’re doing yourself a disservice. Seeing things in extremes with no middle ground means you’re not giving yourself room to change.
4. This isn’t a reason to panic.
If you’re invited out with friends, you don’t have to overeat just because the food is there. You are in charge of what goes into your mouth and you have the power to speak up for yourself. Use it!
5. You are not a tree.
If you don’t like where you are, change it. The power lies with you.
