LighterLife celebrate National Breastfeeding Week 2012

August 3, 2012 - News

This week we are celebrating National breastfeeding week. The organisation is in its 20th year and we wanted to recognise this fantastic achievement by asking our Mummy LighterLifers to share their own experiences and stories.

At LighterLife we love our Mummys and want to support them in every way that we can. Helping those of you who may want to lose weight and help conceive a child or those of you who would like help losing baby weight.

This is what our Mummys had to say…

‘My Daughter was bottle-fed. She’s now a strong, healthy girl who rows for her local club and will be trying out for the Scotland team next year. From my own experience, I can say breast is best.’

‘All three of my children were breast-fed and have grown up into healthy young adults. I now have my first grandson who is also being breast-fed by my daughter. I believe you build a stronger connection with your child from an earlier age this way.’

‘I was unable to breast feed because it hurt too much – both of my children were bottle-fed. I hated this at the time and discussed it with my GP.’

‘Breastfeeding is becoming outdated. I know so many young women who simply refuse to breast feed because they think it will make their breasts smaller!’

‘My baby daughter didn’t respond well to breastfeeding so I was forced to bottle-feed her. It didn’t really make a difference to me – I think you are led by your child.’

We’d like to thank our online community for their enlightening thoughts and experiences.

At LighterLife, you can return to the Total programme when your baby is 3 months old or when you’ve stopped exclusively breast feeding, whichever comes later. Although we can’t physically have you on the programme while you are pregnant or breastfeeding as the babies sole source of nutrition, you can stay in touch via Talking LighterLife, our LighterLife Facebook page and Twitter feed.
