At LighterLife we appreciate it can be hard to stick to a healthy eating plan when constantly on the run. Eating out can be a tricky thing if you are attempting to maintain your weight loss. We’ve therefore devised a few helpful hints on what to look for when out and about on your lunch hour.
Pret a Manger:
Why not try… The Smoked Salmon Sandwich (348 kcals). Salmon is rich in Omega 3 and vitamin E. These nutrients retain essential antioxidants and may protect against coronary heart disease. If you are looking to keep calories lower then this, go for the crayfish and smoked salmon salad, which has only 134 Kcals.
Avoid: The Artisan cheddar and pickle baguette- this sandwich is drenched in saturated fats and has as many as 779 kcals!! Avoid the temptation!!
Why not try…The Tuna Nicoise Salad (236 kcals). Tuna is low in fat and high in protein. The egg contains essential HBV protein and the tomatoes retain an abundance of antioxidants.
Avoid: Parma Ham and mascarpone Panini (536 kcals). Watch out for this choice! The mascarpone can have a fat content of up to 75%!
Why not try…Chicken Caesar Salad WITH dressing on the side. This healthy dish is light and high in protein. It has around 489 kcals, and can fit nicely into your daily food count.
Avoid: Sausage baguette- with a staggering 1,476 Kcals, this baguette exceeds well beyond your lunchtime calorie count. Not to mention the high levels of saturated fat and salt.
Why not try… The Verdure Pizza. This has around 500 kcal; the middle of the dough is removed and replaced with salad. This pizza can be placed nicely into your daily allowance – providing essential vitamins and minerals from the vegetable toppings.
Avoid: Etna Pizza- This pizza has an incredibly high calorie count, at around 1,153 calories!! It is also high in saturated fat- with spicy sausage and an abundance of cheese- avoid!
