We recognize that many of you are joining or re-joining LighterLife to get back on track in 2012. We want to help you be healthy and happy so we asked our LighterLife Facebook and Twitter community for some top tips for weight loss! If you’re a new starter or simply need a little motivation, have a read below and get inspired – you know you can do it…
Deb Crothers – Stay focused! If you find that at a certain time of day you feel hungrier than at any other time, then go for a walk just before. Mine is always about 2pm so go out at 1.30…then I don’t feel tempted to cheat
Lynette Howells – Stick to it. Focus on where you want to be and be assured that although the early days can be difficult it does get better.
Sam Nash – Go to the meetings, they are invaluable and the extra support will get you through.
James Farrell – Always Plan (know what food packs you are going have and when), get involved (open up at the sessions and deal with all the underlying issues that have held us all back in the past) and finally believe in yourself (you can and will do this). ONLY YOU CAN STOP YOU!!!
Leana Jess – Stick to it, the more you cheat the longer you’re on it. Do Route to Management – it’s the key to success! I lost 5st 7lbs and have successfully maintained for about 3 years!
Melanie Dawn Steward – Go to the meetings and open up and face your demons. If you don’t the weight will only come back – I know I have done this before , but never opened up it helps your not on your own .
Toni Frost – I have been maintaining since finishing in September last year having lost 9 and a half stones in 29 weeks. It’s ALL about what’s going on in your head. Make sure you do the classes and Route To Management. LighterLife and me together have changed my life… I’m fit and healthy, I eat well and cut back if need be. It’s there for the taking ladies and gents – Just do it
Katie Archibald – Use the pedometer you’ve been given. I was too big at the start to do any exercise, but I went for an hour walk three times a week when the kids were in bed. It’s great to see how many calories you burn-nearly a whole days worth of packs. I lost 5 stone in 16 weeks and am now running and enjoying Zumba!
Alexis Boo Gold – Take it one day at a time. It can be overwhelming to look too far advance – especially if you have quite a bit to lose. Each day is an achievement. Pat yourself on the back, be proud of yourself and tackle the next day. Before you know it you’ll be in a routine and it will be easy!
Lisa Sherwood – Stay positive. As soon as you see how fast the weight starts to drop off it will keep you motivated!
