Very Low Calorie Diets (VLCDs) like LighterLife Total consist of formula foods, which, like baby food, provide the sole external source of energy and pack all your daily requirements of essential nutrients into just over 600kcal.

LighterLife’s product development team ensure that our Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) products not only meet, but in many cases, exceed the nutrition levels laid down in European legislation.

Four of our LighterLife Foodpacks give you a daily intake of at least 50g protein, at least 50g carbohydrate, around 17g fats, an average of 14g fibre, and at least 100% of the reference intakes (RI) for 28 key vitamins and minerals.

Protein is vital for bone and muscle health and body tissue growth and maintenance. Helping your body to maintain its muscle mass while you’re losing weight. We use only the best quality protein in our Foodpacks – milk and soya.

Carbohydrate is your body’s preferred energy source. The low amount you consume on our VLCD means your physical hunger is kept at bay while you’re maintaining your health during weight loss.

Fibre is a special type of carbohydrate that’s lots of nutritional benefits, including keeping your intestines healthy.

Some fats are essential, including omega-3 fats, which help maintain normal cholesterol levels, and DHA and EPA, which are important for normal heart function.
